[uh-peer-uh ns-is] "Variations in the physical appearance of humans, known as human looks, are believed by anthropologists to be an important factor in the development of personality and social relations."

Hans Malm - Sleeping With The Lights On 28/5 - 14/6 2009

Hans MalmThis project started five years ago when Hans after twenty years moved back to Gustavsberg. He noticed that the calm suburb has changed a lot and started to document the community. But only during night time and only with old technic, to be able to catch the colors we normaly don't see. His work is slowly, the exposure times are often about 20 minutes. His work are surrealistic and full of details at the same time, an empty road a beautiful summer night or his old kindergarten in ruins.

Stéphane Chabrier - (de)konstruktion 2/5 - 24/5 2009

With old pictures from Moscow 1964 and new ones from Swedens industrial era, Stéphane compares the two social spaces. Architecture has always been used for political reasons and these pictures shows how it affects our releationship to the rest of the world. Its contructions brings a social reality. A bridge, a square, a stadium - trough this graphic and abandoned architectural shapes, two epochs can be compared.

Stéphane Chabrier is educated at E.T.P.A school in Toulouse, France.
By investigating unconventional issues, his reasearch about cities and farmland which is hidden or forgotten, can continue. His method is both documentary and conceptual and his profession as an illustrator affects his view of photography.

Naun Juarez is a art student at The Royal University College of Fine Arts (KKH) in Stockholm, Sweden and has a genuin list of educations in Photography and Film from Mexico. Ha has also studied Photography at Kulturama in Stockholm. Nauns work always contains large format camera and there is only one edition of each work.

Annika Thörn Legzdins 22/1 - 15/2 2009
Thirty years ago, before I began the study of Zen, I said, 'Mountains are mountains, waters are waters.'
After I got insight into the truth of Zen through the instructions of a good master, I said, 'Mountains are not mountains, waters are not waters. 'But now, having attained the abode of final rest, (that is, Awakening) I say, 'Mountains are really mountains, waters are really waters.'

Ch'ing yuan Wei-hsin

A woman with a distant gaze is the main character in Annika Thörn Legzdins early images. Most often she is in her home, alone, frozen in the middle of some everyday activity, but eventually she finds her way outside. In the photograph "Untitled" she is standing in an anonymous suburb with her back towards us. She seems cut off, unfamiliar with the place, but maybe now she sees the world around her for the first time? Later her gaze melts together with what she sees and in "Neverlands" she has been overpowered by her surroundings and become part of the landscape rushing by.

There is a change in the artist's perception over these ten years, from slight aversion to a commencing appetite, nature seems more and more magnificent. However, her way of looking at the world remains essentially neutral and one gets the impression that the beauty in her later photos does not come from esthetic decisions, but from the fact that reality happened to be beautiful when the picture was taken.

Henrik Isaksson - Fetus 29/11 - 21/12 2008
Henrik Isakssons surrealistic photographs are waiting to fasten and grow in your fantasy. We are able to study another world in large format. Our thoughts will leed us to extra terrestrial life forms. Henrik has made his pictures in different laborations for the past year and his technic is barely discribable. He started with a large format camera and from there every photograph has grown their own way.

Håkan Strand - Water Works 30/10 - 23/11 2008
Like silk, the ocean looks like silk. Håkans photographs are like poetry, tiny tunes and bombastic at the same time. The human eye isn´t capable to stare for 50 minutes and store the light to a crescendo. But Håkans pictures can, he paints with light. He gives us movies in stills.

Water Works has recently been shown at PhotoPlus in New York, Saatchi Gallery in Nice and at the Phototriennal in Hamburg. Water Works are awarded all over the world and published in Photo Magazines in for example Canada and England.

Joakim Strömholm - Looking back 27/9 - 25/10 2008

Thomas Wågströms book "Boxare" (2000) was chosen as one of the 32 most important swedish photo books of all time at Hasselblad Center in Gothenburg 2004. Here you had a rare opportunity to see them again, exhibited in Stockholm for the first time in many years.

Jessica Silversaga 29/5 - 19/6 2008
Jessica Silversaga is a young talented photographer, very faithful to her style. Staged, self portraits and very often pale colours is Jessicas hallmark. Her inner feelings always leads her pictures but she never use sketches.
Jessica is a senior student at Gamleby Photography School but her pictures are much more poetic then commersial. Two years ago she was chosed to be one of Swedens most interesting photographers.

Rikkard Häggbom - Before you go. Stay. 26/4 - 25/5 2008
"I wanted to document a changing Estonia. But I ended up with a broken heart and something else then a documentary." Rikkard went to Estonia more then 20 times in a period of four years. He wanted to make a fair portrait of a State who went through a great deal of change, from a part of the Sovjet Union to becoming a member of EU. Suddenly he realized that the whole project was about his own change. The documentary transformed into a romantic story about a broken young love.

Rikkards pictures are subjective and personal, always focusing on something else then the obvious.

Helena Påls - För att/Because 27/3 - 20/4 2008
How to give form to a self destructive inner condition? A process when undermined forces seems to take control. One way to overdue is to take a head of them - to stage the captured pain before it attacks from behind. Or, to imitate your nightmares to repaint them. Trying to invisible visiting places full of memories and experiences. Helena Påls photo book För att/Because is a brave statement.  The photographer doesn't try to hide behind a mask. She comes forwards you without any cover. Naked, hurt and bloody.

Adam Wittsell 21/2 - 16/3 2008
Adam works continuously with filtrating the reality and manipulating time. This exhibition starts in Archimedes famous words "give me a place to stand and I will move the earth". Adam work as much as with the final presentation as with the photographic exposure. Especially here where his photographs has transformed into artifacts. You will meet movements and abstraction in a colourful symbiosis.

At the opening night we had Magnus Östergren as our disc jockey. Magnus accompanied Adams live grafic by playing both his own and others music.

Lars G Säfström 26/1 - 17/2 2008
Lars G Safstrom at galleri ikon! He started the photo agency Mira in 1971, and now it is time for us to see his artistic work. An odd but wellknown story told by a grafic language on classic fibre copies.

Fotoskolan finis/ineo 17/1 - 20/1 2008
The end is the beginning of something new. To be thrown into the reality after years of education is a huge step in life. Its a moment of journey to a world of posibilities. This exhibition showed six students from the Photography School in Stockholm, and it showed the leap! It is a complex world, and this world is their own.

The photographers were Karin Stenvall, Sara Axelsson, Åsa Persson, Jeanette Boljang, Linda Åkerberg and Martim Guerra-Silva. More about the students and their work at www.finisineo.com

Kulturama - julexpo 1/12 - 23/12 2007
There are no translations available.

Relationer.

Misha Pedan - STEREO_TYP 3/11-25/11 2007
There are no translations available.

There are no translations available.

Micke Berg - Dagar utan mening 8/9 - 30/9 2007
There are no translations available.

"Klockan i Sofia slår tre, eftermiddag.

Lotta Bengtsson - 4xK + 3xT 9/6 - 1/7 2007
There are no translations available.

There are no translations available.

There are no translations available.

Linda Sim (Australia) and Joakim Hansson (Finland) are examining aspects of interpretative perception, considering the influence of its general context and the relation of past/future recollection.

The photographic images contain a diffuse painterly allusion; surpassing conventional illustrative photography with a delicate visual sensitivity.
